Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child need speech-language or feeding therapy?
If your child exhibits difficulty expressing his thoughts or communicating clearly then he could benefit from language therapy. If you frequently have difficulty understanding what he is saying, articulation therapy can help. If he has food aversions or is an extremely picky eater then he might benefit from feeding therapy.
Where does therapy take place?
Speech Nest provides therapy in our family-friendly clinic. We also provide therapy at your child's daycare or online via teletherapy.
How long are therapy sessions?
The length and duration of therapy depends on the needs of each child, but most therapy sessions are 30 or 45 minutes long. The last few minutes are reserved for instructing the caregiver on home exercises/strategies that will help with carryover of skills learned in therapy.
Will I participate in the sessions?
Absolutely! We love having parents/caregivers participate in each session and learn how to provide carryover of skills that were taught in the therapy session. Parent/Caregiver education is a big part of our therapy plan for your child.
What areas do you serve?
We currently serve families in Frisco, McKinney, Allen, and Plano. Our private practice speech therapy clinic is located in McKinney, TX.
Do you accept insurance?
Speech Nest is not in network with insurance.
We are considered an out-of-network provider with all insurance providers. Please call your insurance carrier and ask what your benefit coverage is for out-of-network speech, language, or feeding therapy. Many families will be able to get reimbursement for some or all of the therapy
Costs. If you don't have insurance coverage for speech/language therapy, we offer reasonable self-pay options. For your convenience, we accept cash, credit cards and checks. Please note that you can also use your cards from Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) as therapy qualifies as a health-related expense.
Please contact Speech Nest for specific pricing information.
